South Australia hosts two medical schools, both in Adelaide. The University of Adelaide runs an undergraduate 6-year MBBS selected on UCAT-ANZ, ATAR (~95) and an MMI, applied for through SATAC. Flinders University runs a graduate 4-year MD with one of the country's earliest and most distinctive problem-based-learning (PBL) curricula, selected on GAMSAT plus an MMI through GEMSAS. Both schools run substantial rural clinical school programs across regional SA and the Northern Territory, and both carry rural-background and Indigenous entry pathways alongside their Commonwealth Supported intake.

Places + funding. Domestic places at Adelaide and Flinders are Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) with a deferrable HECS-HELP student contribution, and both carry a Bonded Medical Place (BMP) share. Applications go through SATAC (Adelaide undergraduate) and GEMSAS (Flinders graduate). International full-fee places run from roughly AUD $80,000+/year.
