The universities toolkit

Six free tools that take you from “where could I apply?” to a confident preference list. Here’s what each one does — and when to reach for it.

Featured · ATAR cut-offs

See the selection rank each school really needs

Undergraduate medicine and dentistry in Australia rank school-leavers on their ATAR selection rank. We pull the lowest selection rank admitted at each school straight from our dataset — so you can build a shortlist that balances ambition with realism, and see where adjustment schemes can lower the bar.

  • Live cut-offs for medicine and dentistry, school by school
  • Selection rank, not raw ATAR — the figure schools actually publish
  • Cross-checked against the same data behind every school page
Featured · Compare tool

Compare your shortlist in one table

Once you have two or three contenders, stop flicking between tabs. Pick up to three schools and see cut-offs, admissions tests, interview formats and place types lined up so the differences jump out.

Two pathways, two systems

Choosing your route in

Australia has more than one way into medicine and dentistry — and the funding and service obligations differ too. Start here.

Graduate vs undergraduate entry

Around 60% of Australian medicine places now go via the graduate pathway. See how the 4-year graduate MD (GAMSAT + GPA, through GEMSAS) compares with school-leaver undergraduate entry (UCAT-ANZ + ATAR).

CSP, BMP & full-fee places

Most domestic places are Commonwealth Supported (CSP) with a deferrable HECS-HELP contribution; around 28.5% are Bonded Medical Places (BMP) tied to rural service. Understand the funding and obligations before you rank a school.
