Caveat
Shortlisting is a single published UCAT total threshold per pool (home / overseas-EU-query / widening participation) with SJT band 3 as the floor: Imperial ranks UCAT scores and sets the cut-off against the number of interview sessions available, so the bar moves with the cohort. GCSEs are not used beyond grade 6 in English Language, and the personal statement is never scored at shortlisting — it only reaches interviewers for MMI station 1. Band 4 SJT is auto-rejected, and offers are decided purely on the six-station MMI total.

Contextual offers (widening participation)
Widening-participation applicants are shortlisted against a lower UCAT threshold - 2,170 for 2026 entry against 2,320 for other home applicants. The A-level offer is not reduced: it stays A*AA, but the A* may be in any subject rather than having to sit in Biology or Chemistry. A separate, lower interview-score threshold also applies.
Eligibility for contextual consideration typically requires evidence of: state-funded secondary education in a deprived postcode (POLAR4 Q1-2), eligibility for free school meals, being care-experienced, or first-in-family university entry.
