UK medical-school interviews — key facts
- Interview formats
- Most UK medical schools use Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) — circuits of 6–10 short stations. A minority use panel interviews (2–4 interviewers, 20–40 minutes); Oxford and Cambridge use traditional college / academic interviews. See the interview format for every UK school.
- When interviews run
- Interview season runs December through March. Cambridge interviews in early-mid December, Oxford in mid-December, and most other schools roll interviews November–March.
- How long to prepare
- Plan 40–60 hours of structured preparation: ethics frameworks (four pillars, SPIES), role-play and communication practice, NHS values and hot-topic reading, and at least three full mock circuits or interviews.
