CDU’s statements on international entry conflict: for 2027 entry the course page and the CMMP FAQ list 10 onshore international fee-paying places (applicants in Australia without a student visa) on top of the 40 Commonwealth Supported Places, while the course page’s key-details box, the 2027 Course Catalogue and the FAQ’s eligibility answer say the course is open only to domestic students, and the FAQ’s fees answer and the 2027 Admissions Guide say all places are Commonwealth supported.

Sydney requires Bachelor degree (any discipline) with minimum GPA 5.0/7.0 (4.5 rural); GAMSAT minimum 50 in each section (hard hurdle), ranked on individual section scores; International applicants may substitute MCAT (minimum 500, test date January 2024 - June 2026) - ISAT is not accepted.

No interview on the standard Metropolitan graduate pathway, but Dubbo-stream applicants must submit a personal statement and may be interviewed, some international applicants are interviewed, Indigenous Facilitated Entry Scheme applicants may be interviewed, and Sydney reserves an interview or Situational Judgement Test as a tie-break between equally ranked applicants.

Intake size: Charles Darwin University — First cohort (February 2026): 42 students, including two First Nations students, from about 1,900 applications; Sydney — ~300 students per year in total (not 300 domestic plus internationals). A larger cohort means more peer breadth; a smaller cohort means more tutor contact.

Charles Darwin University: All of Years 3–5 are block placements across the Northern Territory; for placements outside Darwin, students live in towns such as Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Nhulunbuy. The standard Metropolitan pathway is GAMSAT section ranking with no interview, but the Dubbo stream (24 CSP-only places, the whole four-year MD taught at the School of Rural Health in Dubbo) adds a rural-motivation personal statement and an interview that counts toward ranking.

School leavers can enter through the Double Degree Medicine Program (BA/MD or BSc/MD, 7 years, ATAR 99.95, no admission test, online Assessment Day of group interview plus written assessment), progressing to the MD without GAMSAT or a further interview if they finish the bachelor's in minimum time with a credit average.

The Indigenous Facilitated Entry Scheme, overseen by the Indigenous Admissions Advisory Group, relaxes the GPA floor to support improvement trajectories and waives GAMSAT entirely from 2027 entry.
