The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University was founded in 1975, with roots in Brown's integrated undergraduate medical program dating to 1963. It is a private medical school in Providence, Rhode Island, closely tied to Brown's liberal arts tradition. Three things it is known for: the PLME 8-year combined program, a Pass/No Credit pre-clinical grading philosophy, and an early clinical curriculum called Doctoring.
