Overview

The Lincoln Medical School medicine course at a glance

Founded in 2018 specifically to keep doctors in Lincolnshire, and the placements reflect that — three county hospitals plus care homes, health charities and social prescribing settings that most courses never touch.

Teaching

How Lincoln Medical School teaches medicine

A "case-based learning approach, with exemplar cases organised into blocks" built on real patient scenarios. Years 1–2 are mostly campus-based; years 3–5 are placement-heavy with regular campus teaching.

What that means day to day

Case-based learning
Like PBL but more structured — the case comes with defined learning outcomes and a facilitator keeps the group on the intended path.

When you first meet patients

Year 3 is the transition from largely university-based learning to largely clinically-based learning.
