About NSU-COM (DO)

Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSU-COM), founded in 1981, is one of the largest and most established private osteopathic medical schools in the United States. Located on NSU's Fort Lauderdale (Davie) campus in South Florida, NSU-COM benefits from NSU's comprehensive health sciences infrastructure, including schools of pharmacy, dental medicine, nursing, optometry, and public health. The school trains physicians for South Florida's exceptionally diverse patient population.

What makes it different

NSU-COM's South Florida location provides clinical training in one of the most diverse patient populations in the US — a Caribbean diaspora, Latin American, Haitian, South Asian, and elderly (Medicare) population. NSU's multi-college health sciences campus offers genuine interprofessional clinical education alongside pharmacy, dental, nursing, and optometry students. NSU-COM also operates the Tampa Bay Regional Campus in Clearwater, Florida (opened 2019), extending its osteopathic training across the state.

Course & teaching

Integrated curriculum. 4-year DO curriculum with OMM integrated throughout. NSU-COM offers a contemporary integrated curriculum with early clinical exposure and significant interprofessional health education given NSU's multi-college health sciences campus. Years 1–2 at Fort Lauderdale; Years 3–4 clinical rotations at NSU-COM-affiliated hospitals and community sites across South Florida and the broader national NSU network.

NSU-COM (DO) interviews via Traditional interview. Nova Southeastern University COM (NSU-COM) conducts traditional faculty interviews at its Fort Lauderdale (Davie) campus. The interview day includes a campus tour of NSU's health professions complex, program overview, and one-on-one or small panel interview.
