The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med), founded in 1969, is Nevada's older public medical school, serving Northern Nevada and the broader rural intermountain region. The school trains physicians with particular emphasis on rural and frontier medicine, primary care, and service to medically underserved Nevada communities. Clinical training is anchored at Renown Regional Medical Center and the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System. Course & teaching

Integrated curriculum. 4-year MD. Pre-clerkship years use integrated systems-based blocks with clinical skills woven throughout. Rural Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (RLIC) option allows third-year students to complete their year in a rural Nevada community rather than rotating through urban hospitals — a distinctive program for rural-committed applicants.
