About Creighton University School of Medicine (MD)

Creighton University School of Medicine, founded in 1892 in Omaha, Nebraska, is a private Jesuit medical school committed to the formation of physician-servants guided by the Ignatian principle of cura personalis — care for the whole person. The school is affiliated with CHI Health (CommonSpirit) hospitals and in 2021 opened a four-year Phoenix campus in partnership with Valleywise Health — one of Arizona's largest safety-net and trauma hospital systems. Tutor insight
Creighton's Jesuit interview culture is similar to SLU — arrive with a genuine, concrete service narrative rooted in cura personalis values, not just a list of volunteer hours. If applying to the Phoenix campus, research Valleywise Health's role as Arizona's largest safety-net provider and be prepared to discuss Phoenix's distinctive health challenges (extreme heat-related illness, large uninsured migrant population). The dual-campus model is a genuine differentiator — showing that you have thought carefully about which campus fits your goals and why will demonstrate school-specific engagement. Know that Creighton is private, Jesuit, and national in scope — do not conflate it with the University of Nebraska.
