A NextGen MedPrep mock interview is a full hour, one-to-one and live over video with a current UK medical or dental student — wherever we can, one who sat the interview you are about to sit. It runs in your university’s real format (MMI circuit, panel or traditional academic interview) and ends with written feedback against that school’s criteria. UK interview invitations go out from November and interviews run through to March, with Oxford and Cambridge concentrated in December. Two things follow from that.
A mock the day before your interview tells you what is wrong at the point you can no longer fix it. Aim for at least a week between the mock and the real thing, and a few days between mocks if you are doing more than one.
That is when every applicant in the country wants the same fortnight. Most students are matched within 24–48 hours, and applicants interviewing within two weeks are prioritised — but the earlier your invitation date reaches us, the more choice of tutor and slot you get.
