About UNE COM (DO)

The University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM), founded in 1978, is the only medical school in Maine and one of the oldest osteopathic medical schools in New England.

Located on UNE's Portland Campus for the Health Sciences (relocated from Biddeford in 2025), UNECOM trains physicians with a strong primary care and rural health mission, preparing graduates to serve Maine's widely dispersed and often underserved population.
