Overview

About Keele

Medical school with focus on rural and community medicine.

What makes it different

Personal statement is heavily weighted (/15 of the /25 total score) - Keele has very specific PS criteria. Strong PS with band 1-2 SJT can compensate for relatively low UCAT. International applicants selected on UCAT only.

Course & teaching

Spiral curriculum. Five-year MBChB with spiral curriculum. Strong rural/community placement strand across Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire.

Research strengths

Keele has notable research strength in Musculoskeletal medicine, Primary care research, Mental health, Pharmacology.

Intercalation

Optional intercalated BSc/MRes.

Interview

Keele interviews via Two 15-minute panel interviews, each with two interviewers (online). Shorter MMI format than most schools, with a more supportive atmosphere - interviewers prompt and help develop your answers rather than try to catch you out. Stations cover the usual MMI domains plus personal-statement discussion.

Intake

~150 home + ~10 international places per year (5-year MBChB) + ~30 Health Foundation Year places.

At a glance
