Format: In-person MMI: 8 to 10 scenario stations of 10 minutes at the UMMC Clinical Skills Assessment Center
The University of Mississippi School of Medicine interviews solely by Multiple Mini Interview (MMI): a circuit of eight to ten scenario-based stations of 10 minutes each with trained raters, held in person at the UMMC Clinical Skills Assessment Center in Jackson, on Fridays from August to December.
As the only medical school in Mississippi, interviewers heavily emphasize commitment to practicing in Mississippi, especially in rural and underserved communities across the state. Candidates are expected to demonstrate awareness of Mississippi's unique public health challenges including high rates of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and maternal mortality.
