Tutor insight
UGA Med's novelty is both its challenge and opportunity. Early cohort students will have unusually close relationships with faculty and will shape the school's culture — if you are entrepreneurial and comfortable in a developing institution, this is a genuine advantage. Be specific about your Northeast Georgia or Athens connections; the school's geographic identity is central. Research the MCG partnership carefully so you can articulate how the Athens preclinical experience connects to the Augusta clinical network. The program is very small in its early years, so personalising your application is even more important than at larger schools.
