UCAT-ANZ dates and fees
What is published for 2027, and the 2026 pattern
UCAT-ANZ 2027 dates and fees, for 2028 entry, were not published on ucat.edu.au when we checked on 7 November 2026. The latest official dates are for UCAT-ANZ 2026: bookings ran from 3 March to 15 May, testing from 1 July to 5 August, and results reached universities in early September. The fee was $335. Treat these as a pattern, not as 2027 dates.

Are the UCAT-ANZ 2027 dates published?
Not yet. UCAT-ANZ is run for a group of universities, the UCAT ANZ Consortium, and this is the position on its website on 7 November 2026.
| UCAT-ANZ 2026 | Sat 1 July to 5 August 2026, for entry in 2027. Testing has finished and results are with universities. |
|---|---|
| UCAT-ANZ 2027 | The next test, for entry in 2028. Dates and fees are not yet published. |
| Carrying a result over | Not allowed. The Consortium says results from one year can only be used for courses starting the next year. |
| Who can sit | Candidates in, or past, their final year of school. Australian Year 11 and New Zealand Year 12 students are not eligible. |
| How many sittings | One per test cycle. Sitting twice in a year, or sitting UCAT-ANZ and UCAT UK in the same year, is candidate misconduct. |
If you are finishing Year 12 now and did not sit in 2026, you cannot sit again for 2027 entry. Your options are a pathway that does not ask for UCAT-ANZ, or sitting in 2027 for 2028 entry.
If you are in Year 11 now, UCAT-ANZ 2027 is your test. Use this guide as your planning pattern, and replace each date when the Consortium publishes the 2027 cycle.
UCAT-ANZ 2026 key dates: the latest official pattern
These are 2026 dates for 2027 entry, not 2027 dates. Every deadline was 11.59pm AEST, and the Consortium says it makes no exceptions.
| 2026 date | What happened |
|---|---|
| 16 February | Concession Scheme and Access Arrangements applications opened |
| 3 March | Bookings opened |
| 11 May | Concession applications closed |
| 15 May | Booking deadline at the standard fee; Access Arrangements applications closed |
| 29 May | Late bookings closed ($85 extra); late Access Arrangements applications closed |
| 5 June | Final late bookings closed ($185 extra); no bookings accepted after this |
| 12 June | Last day to cancel for a refund, less a $50 refund fee |
| 29 June | Last day to reschedule without the $25 fee |
| 1 July to 5 August | Testing window |
| Early September | Results delivered to Consortium universities |
Preliminary test statistics are published in late August, and summary statistics and percentiles in September.
What the pattern does and does not tell you about 2027
The shape of the year is stable enough to plan around. The Consortium's FAQ says bookings open in early March, and Adelaide University says the test is held from July to August each year, before SATAC applications open.
Exact dates do move. The Consortium's 2025 statistics cover candidates tested from 1 July to 17 August, while the 2026 window closed on 5 August, 12 days earlier. Do not copy a 2026 date into a 2027 diary as fact.
UCAT-ANZ 2026 test fees
These are 2026 fees in Australian dollars. The 2027 fees are not published.
| Fee | 2026 amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Test in Australia or New Zealand | $335 | Standard fee, paid at booking |
| Test overseas | $405 | Outside Australia and New Zealand |
| Concession fee | $240 | Australia only, with an approved voucher |
| Late fee | $85 extra | Bookings 16 to 29 May, so $420 in total at the standard fee |
| Final late fee | $185 extra | Bookings 30 May to 5 June, so $520 in total at the standard fee |
| Refund fee | $50 | Deducted if you cancel by the deadline; late fees are not refunded |
| Rescheduling fee | $25 | Rescheduling after 29 June |
You pay by major debit or credit card when you book. The FAQ names Visa, Mastercard and Visa debit.
Pearson is a United States merchant. Your statement will show Vue* Testing Exam Bloomington USA, and your bank may add an international transaction fee.
The UCAT-ANZ Concession Scheme
UCAT-ANZ has a Concession Scheme, not the bursary used for the UK test. In 2026 it cut the fee from $335 to $240.
| Who qualifies | You hold, or are a dependant on, a current Australian Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink. |
|---|---|
| Not accepted | Medicare cards, New Zealand Community Services Cards, transport concession cards, private health cards, and financial hardship claims on any other basis. |
| Evidence | A copy of both sides of the card and your UCAT ANZ ID. The name must match your Pearson account. |
| 2026 window | 16 February to 11 May, four days before the booking deadline. Late applications were not accepted. |
| Voucher | Emailed within about 3 business days. Enter the code at checkout when you book. |
| Where it applies | Tests sat in Australia only. |
| Already booked at full fee | You can still apply by the deadline, then email Pearson with your voucher code for a partial refund. |
UCAT-ANZ access arrangements: apply before you book
If you have exam adjustments at school or university, you may be able to sit an extended test. You must apply and be approved before the test can be booked.
| Version | What it gives you | Total time |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Standard timing | 117 min 30 sec |
| SA | 20 minutes of pause-the-clock rest breaks | Up to 137 min 30 sec |
| SEN10 | 10 minutes extra per hour | 136 min |
| SEN10SA | 10 minutes extra per hour, plus rest breaks | Up to 159 min |
| SEN | 25% extra time | 145 min 15 sec |
| SENSA | 25% extra time, plus rest breaks | Up to 170 min 15 sec |
Apply for the arrangements that match what you already receive in exams. In 2026, applications ran from 16 February to 15 May, with late applications to 29 May at the $85 late fee.
- You need two documents: a letter on official letterhead dated in the test year, listing your exam adjustments and their basis, and the health or psychology report behind them.
- A recent diagnosis, or not being enrolled anywhere, changes the evidence. Read the FAQs on the Consortium page.
- Outcomes take about 5 business days. You cannot book an extended test yourself: the outcome email explains how it is booked.
- A standard appointment cannot be extended later, so do not book one while you wait.
- You must apply again each year you sit.
- Not provided: a reader, a scribe or prompter, a paper test, bilingual dictionaries, unlimited breaks, or personal IT equipment.
How UCAT-ANZ is sat: Pearson VUE test centres
UCAT-ANZ is a computer-based test sat in a Pearson test centre. The FAQ says it can only be taken at a test centre, not at school, and the Consortium's pages describe no online-proctored option.
| State or country | Locations |
|---|---|
| ACT | Canberra |
| New South Wales | Armidale, Newcastle, Orange, Parramatta, Port Macquarie, Sydney, Wagga Wagga |
| Northern Territory | Alice Springs, Darwin |
| Queensland | Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Gold Coast, Maroochydore, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Townsville |
| South Australia | Adelaide, Bordertown, Port Augusta |
| Tasmania | Hobart, Launceston |
| Victoria | Ballarat, Bendigo, Churchill, Geelong, Melbourne, Mildura |
| Western Australia | Bunbury, Geraldton, Perth |
| New Zealand | Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, New Plymouth, Wellington |
Most capital cities have several centres. Regional centres have limited dates, and some offer one date only. Overseas centres also exist. The 2027 list is not published.
| Subtest | Questions | Test time | Scored |
|---|---|---|---|
| Verbal Reasoning | 44 | 22 minutes | 300 to 900 |
| Decision Making | 35 | 37 minutes | 300 to 900 |
| Quantitative Reasoning | 36 | 26 minutes | 300 to 900 |
| Situational Judgement | 69 | 26 minutes | 300 to 900, reported separately |
With timed instruction screens the test runs for 117 minutes 30 seconds. The first three subtests add up to a total score from 900 to 2,700.
Test day rules worth checking early
- Arrive 30 minutes before your appointment. More than 15 minutes late means no refund.
- Bring one original, current photo ID. A passport works at any centre. An Australian driver's licence or learner's permit, or a listed proof of age card, works at Australian centres.
- The name on your ID must exactly match your Pearson account. Digital licences, student cards and Keypass are not accepted.
- Some ID documents can take a month or longer to obtain, so check yours well before you book.
- Attending means you declare yourself fit to test. If you are unwell, reschedule instead of sitting.
Rescheduling, cancelling or missing your UCAT-ANZ test
| What you need to do | 2026 rule |
|---|---|
| Cancel for a refund | By 12 June, in your Pearson account. $50 is deducted and late fees are not refunded. |
| Cancel after that | You can still cancel, but the fee is not refunded. |
| Reschedule free | Before 29 June at 11.59pm AEST, subject to availability. |
| Reschedule later | $25, up to 24 hours before your appointment. The fee applies for any reason, including illness. |
| Miss the test | Wait for the no show status, usually 24 hours, then phone Pearson and pay the standard fee to rebook, if appointments remain. |
| Move to another country | Cancel and rebook. After standard bookings close, email the UCAT ANZ Office; the cancellation fee applies. |
When UCAT-ANZ results arrive and how long they last
| Your score report | Pearson emails you within 24 hours of the test with instructions to open it in your account. It is for your records only. |
|---|---|
| Universities | The UCAT ANZ Office sends all results to Consortium universities in early September. You do not pass them on yourself. |
| Your application | Quote your UCAT ANZ ID, in the format ANZ12345678, in your university applications. |
| Statistics | Preliminary figures in late August; summary statistics and a percentile look-up in September. |
| Validity | One admissions cycle. UCAT-ANZ 2026 results are for 2027 entry only. |
| UK applications | UCAT-ANZ 2026 results could be used for UK 2027 entry through a form that has now closed. |
Check your schools still use UCAT-ANZ for 2028 entry
The Consortium says there are no general exemptions, but requirements differ by course and pathway, and the list can change between years.
The list published for the 2026 test covers universities in every Australian state, plus Auckland and Otago in New Zealand. Before you book for 2028 entry, check each course's own page. Four things stand out now.
- Auckland required UCAT-ANZ for 2027 entry. For 2028 entry it says you will sit its own situational judgement test, Casper, instead.
- UCAT-ANZ is optional for Griffith and USC Medical Science, but applicants without a result sit lower in their ATAR band. It is compulsory for Griffith Dental Health Science.
- Adelaide, Curtin, Monash and UNSW do not require it on their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entry routes.
- Graduate entry usually runs on GAMSAT, not UCAT-ANZ. The Consortium directs graduates to the GAMSAT website.
