See the course →Barts and The London-based dental institute with a unique two-part interview (article + personal qualities) and a 4th-decile UCAT minimum.
Queen Mary applies a fourth-decile minimum on the total UCAT: below it an application does not pass first shortlisting, and clearing it guarantees nothing. The bar is published as a decile rather than a score because the boundary moves with each cohort, and Queen Mary states thresholds cannot be predicted from previous years. Higher predicted grades do not compensate.
SJT band 4 automatically rejected.
Integrated curriculum. Five-year BDS at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Clinical placements at Royal London Dental Hospital and East London community sites.

Online panel interview with two senior academic/clinical staff, a dental student, or sometimes a lay selector. Split into two parts: (1) questions based on an article given 2 weeks prior; (2) personal qualities and insight into dentistry - your personal statement may be visible. Six areas assessed: insight into dentistry, initiative/resilience/maturity, teamwork, organisation/problem-solving, contribution to university life, communication.

What is TrueScore?
A data-driven estimate of the UCAT score you'll likely need to be invited to interview at Queen Mary (QMUL) for 2027 entry entry — based on its published cut-offs and recent admissions data. Treat it as a target to aim past, not a guarantee.
Queen Mary (QMUL)'s TrueScore is 2210. Build a week-by-week UCAT plan that works back from your test date — free for the first two weeks.
Band 4 automatically rejected. Used post-interview in offer-making (likely minimal weighting).
Queen Mary states that thresholds cannot be predicted for any individual year, nor derived from previous years - which is why the bar is published as a decile rather than a score. Applicants above the decile floor are shortlisted against the rest of that year's field.
