The University of Florida College of Medicine, founded in 1956, is the flagship public medical school of Florida and is affiliated with UF Health — a comprehensive academic medical center in Gainesville. UF College of Medicine has particular strengths in cancer research (UF Health Cancer Center is an NCI-designated cancer center), neurology, and rural health.
