UWA Dental runs a 4-year graduate Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) — Western Australia's only graduate-entry dental program. Clinical teaching is based at the Oral Health Centre of WA, a dental teaching hospital at 17 Monash Avenue, Nedlands, on UWA's Health Campus next to the QEII Medical Centre — not the Crawley teaching campus.
Shortlisting for interview ranks GAMSAT and GPA 40%/60%; the MMI then carries 50% of the final rank against GPA 30% and GAMSAT 20%. Strong rural and Aboriginal Health pathways.
Integrated curriculum. 4-year graduate Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), 192 points comprising 144 points of taught units plus 48 points of admission credit (UWA Handbook 91860), accredited by the Australian Dental Council.
Entrants without the Integrated Dental Sciences major (MJD-DENTS) complete a conversion year of up to 48 points covering body systems, anatomy and oral sciences, biofilm sciences and dental public health; later years move through fundamentals and introduction to clinical dental practice into integrated dental practice.
Clinical teaching is based at the Oral Health Centre of WA in Nedlands, with further placements in WA Dental Health Services metropolitan and rural clinics and community settings and compulsory rural and private practice rotations — UWA names no specific rural dental towns.
The school-leaver Assured Pathway (TISC UD056) runs through the Bachelor of Biomedicine (Specialised), Integrated Dental Sciences major, and enters the DMD on the 48 points of admission credit, so it is 3+3 years in total.
TISC lists UD056 itself as n/a / n/a / Limited (composite selection, not solely ATAR-based), so no lowest-offer ATAR exists for the dental pathway; the separate standalone Bachelor of Biomedicine (Specialised), UP056, took a minimum rank of 95.00 and a lowest selection rank offered of 97.70 for 2026 admission (92.00 / 97.50 for 2025) and must not be read as the dental pathway's cut-off.
UWA remains the only WA university offering a registrable general-dentistry qualification.

Format: MMI, 8 stations × 7 minutes (domestic); two-interviewer panel, ~50 minutes (international)
Domestic school-leaver and domestic graduate applicants sit the UWA MMI: 8 numbered stations, each 7 minutes — 2 minutes to consider a written question, then 5 minutes responding to the interviewer — with candidates moving between stations in numbered order and a different interviewer at each station; the whole process takes about 70–75 minutes including registration.
Questions are provided in writing and come from a rotated pool; UWA states there are no trick questions and that questions will not require specific health care or scientific knowledge. Domestic interviews are held in person in Perth, and UWA notes financial support may be available for rural students who need to fly in.
International school-leaver and international graduate applicants instead face a panel of two interviewers for approximately 50 minutes including registration, addressing about five MMI-style questions that are not individually timed; UWA states international school-leaver interviews are held in Perth, at specified overseas locations, and online. UWA does not publish who the interviewers are, and names no role-play, manual-dexterity or debate stations.

UWA Dental's rural footprint mirrors the MD program — examiners specifically probe candidates who can engage with the Broome, Kalgoorlie, and South West placement network. Generic rural enthusiasm scores poorly; bring specific reflections on remote dental workforce shortages and Aboriginal oral health responsibilities. The Aboriginal Health Pathway is integrated into the broader curriculum, so candidates who can speak concretely about Aboriginal oral health (not just generic Indigenous health) play well. Manual dexterity reflection should be concrete: prior fine motor work, procedural exposure, why dentistry over medicine.
