UWA Dental runs a 4-year graduate Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) — Western Australia's only graduate-entry dental program. Co-located with the Oral Health Centre of WA at the Crawley campus. Pre-interview ranking weights GAMSAT and GPA; the MMI carries substantial weight in the final composite. Strong rural and Aboriginal Health pathways.
Integrated curriculum. 4-year graduate Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). Year 1 foundations and pre-clinical simulation at Crawley. Years 2-4 clinical placements at the Oral Health Centre of WA and across rural WA dental sites (Albany, Bunbury, Broome, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie).
Direct Pathway to DMD via Bachelor of Biomedicine (Specialised) Integrated Dental Sciences Major (TISC UD056), with underlying UP056 ranks 96.65 (2024) → 97.50 (2025). UWA remains the only WA university offering a registrable general-dentistry qualification (DMD).

Format: Multi-Mini Interview (~8 stations)
UWA Dental MMI runs ~8 stations of 8 minutes each (with a 2-minute reading window). Stations span ethical reasoning, communication and role-play, manual dexterity reflection, motivation, teamwork, and current-issue debates. Interviews are typically held at the Crawley campus or virtually. Examiners are clinicians and academics from UWA Dental School and the Oral Health Centre of WA.
~36 places annually across all DMD quotas (Direct + Graduate combined; Fraser's UWA 2027). Domestic vs international split not publicly disclosed.

UWA Dental's rural footprint mirrors the MD program — examiners specifically probe candidates who can engage with the Broome, Kalgoorlie, and South West placement network. Generic rural enthusiasm scores poorly; bring specific reflections on remote dental workforce shortages and Aboriginal oral health responsibilities. The Aboriginal Health Pathway is integrated into the broader curriculum, so candidates who can speak concretely about Aboriginal oral health (not just generic Indigenous health) play well. Manual dexterity reflection should be concrete: prior fine motor work, procedural exposure, why dentistry over medicine.
